Ray Family Update from July 2019
Dear Praying Friends,
July was expected to be a time of regrouping before our regular schedules of outreach, prayer meetings, and Bible Institute resume in August; however, it was not quite as expected. Instead, one of my wife’s sisters, who had been losing a battle with diabetes for years, fell increasingly worse in the month of July before going home to be with the Lord last week. My wife and her sisters were the primary caregivers and the loss has taken its toll on their family. I cannot fathom where they would be emotionally if they did not have God’s promise of a reunion and of the departed sister’s immediate improvement when she entered the presence of God.
In addition to our family trying to pitch in to handle more of the domestic duties so that my wife could attend unto her sister, we also began efforts to repair and improve our YouTube channel. This may not seem like much of a task, but there are nearly 1,500 videos that all have to be edited, one by one, with new videos added daily. I am projecting that this will take a minimum of one year, but two years is far more likely. Needless to say, we are more than a little weary. Thankfully, in God’s perfect timing, without having known how any of this would transpire in July, we had already scheduled a vacation for this next week. As carnal as this may sound, please pray that God would give us the necessary rest and recovery so that we can return with zeal and strength to do His work.
Time to Pray
As I write this letter, I feel compelled to break away from the norm of reporting both the past and prospective endeavours of our church and me personally and to instead request that you pray with and for my family and our church family. Some of our families have been hit by lost jobs, others by illness or other health concerns, others by domestic difficulties, others are facing some life-altering decisions, and others just need a good stirring by the Lord because they have lost their hunger for His word and their zeal for serving Him.
As a body of believers, we need strength from God to accomplish His work in our community. We need labourers who will stick their necks in the yoke with us and the Lord to reach souls both locally and globally. We need a renewed unity that binds our hearts to each other and to the Lord and to His purpose through us. We need God to supply the needs of the saints and get them refocused on the mission given to us by the Lord through His holy word. We need more, not less, involvement, sacrifice, selflessness, and desire toward the Lord. Will you join with us in prayer and perhaps at times go to the Lord on our behalf?
Prayer Requests
* Pray for those who are newly saved. They are facing struggles and need God’s help.
* Pray for more labourers.
* Pray for the needs and burdens of our church folks.
* Continue to ask God to give us fruit among those who are unchurched or underchurched.
* Pray for renewed zeal.
