The Life and Ministry of
Pastor Andrew Ray
Ray Family Update from June 2017
Dear Praying Friends,
This summer has been one of the most chaotic seasons of my life. Yet, in the midst of all the chaos, the above words come to mind, “Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.” Sometimes we forget that getting out of bed in the morning is a task we are unable to accomplish apart from the Lord’s help. Truth is, there is nothing we can do or accomplish without God giving us the strength, wisdom, and ability to do so. The more we keep this truth fresh on our minds, the less likely we are to be overtaken by pride.
Hot Off the Press
Over the next two weeks, we will receive shipment on two new books: (1) Josiah: The Boy Who Would Be King and (2) Daily Strength 4. Both of these works came as a result of a burdened heart for families and young people and there is great joy in seeing your labour of love come to fruition. I fear that, in all our efforts to get everybody’s doctrine straight, we have left the home and family to the writings of those who have little to no appreciation for the King James Bible and sound biblical teaching. While we major on street preaching, rightly dividing the word of truth, and overall militant Christianity, the families in our churches are suffering. Unlike my children, I did not have the benefit of growing up on the Bible. I was not spoiled week in and week out in the Sunday School rooms of faithful saints of God. I came in on this later in life and want to do my part to make sure that families and children have Bible-believing materials by which they can strengthen their faith in the word of God. I know it takes time, but I pray these devotional books and the new children’s book eventually find their way into the hands, hearts, and lives of God’s people.
Finishing Up
As of this week, I am nearly complete with my second pass through our book on Matthew chapter 24. This book is coming together and we are working on the charts to help illustrate the written truths. It is my hope that this work will be complete this month and in print sometime late August or early September. Several other projects are nearing completion or milestones, but I will save those reports for a later date.
Upcoming Schedule
The Bible Institute will resume on August 21st with classes on The New Testament Church and Hebrews taught by myself and classes on Bible Geography and Deuteronomy taught by brother Jonathan Judy. Before that time I have several trips planned. First, I will head to Boston with our young people for their annual trip. While there, we hope to see some sights, do some ministering, and visit a good brother in Auburn, Massachusetts. After that trip, my family and I will be at a Bible Conference in North Carolina, and the week following that, we will take some family time up in Illinois.
