What Is Your Heart Type?

I. THE PRESENCE OF TWO OPTIONS

A. A Hardened Heart (1 Samuel 6:6); Note the audience of the hardening of their hearts.

II. THE NATURE OF THE OPTIONS

A. The Character of a Hard Heart

1. A hard heart is disobedient (Exodus 4:21; Exodus 7:14; Exodus 8:32; Exodus 9:7, 35; Exodus 10:20, 27; Exodus 11:10).
2. A hard heart is unwilling to listen (Exodus 7:13, 22; Exodus 8:15, 19; Exodus 9:12; Ezekiel 3:7).
3. A hard heart is unrelenting in its pursuit of sin (Exodus 9:34).
4. A hard heart is ignorant of its pursuit of judgment (Exodus 14:4, 8, 17; Joshua 11:20; Romans 2:5).

9. A hard heart is plagued by unbelief (Mark 6:52; Mark 8:17; Mark 16:14).

c. A seared conscience (1 Timothy 4:1-3)

B. The Character of a Soft Heart

1. A soft heart is associated with fearing God (Job 23:15-16).

3. A soft heart is associated with the new man and righteous conduct (Ephesians 4:23-32).
